Spend some time in one of Europe’s most mysterious and unexplored countries in a small group.

The base of the tour will be the village of Voskopoja, once an ancient city rich in history, with interesting Romanesque architecture and Orthodox churches featuring some of the best 18th century frescoes in Southern Europe. The tour will start from the Voskopoja, ascending up to 1300 m above sea level, and ending at Shipska, a remote and beautiful village. Shipska houses the recently restored Church of Saint George, winner of the European Prize for Best Restoration of 2010.

The trail to Shipska last approximately two hours and the return path passes through a rich pine and beech tree forest. Different kinds of mushrooms are found throughout the hiking itinerary. The landscape throughout the trail is one of the best in the entire region with plenty of fresh mountain springs to enjoy along the way.

Trip guide: The round trip lasts approximately 6 hours, including a guided trip to the village of Shipska, lunch and visiting surrounding churches.
